Pre-roll Advertising

Pre-roll ads are high definition video ads that display across the internet. They are served via mobile apps, mobile web and desktop. You may recognize these as the ads you see at the beginning of YouTube videos.

Videos for pre-roll must be safe for internet consumption and must satisfy the following requirements:

  • video must be high resolution video
  • 16:9 widescreen is the preferred aspect ratio
  • .mp4, .mov, .flv file formats accepted
  • 300x250 pixel companion ad available (optional)

 

Display Advertising

Display ads are the ads you see often on the right hand side of your browser. In accordance with the IAB (Interactive Advertising Bureau) standards, these ads must default to silent but allow user-initiated audio. Display ads may include both a video and static banner or may be only a static image. Ads that include video may only play for a maximum of 30 seconds.

For ads that include a video, you can choose a thumbnail image that people will see after the video ends after 30 seconds.

Our most frequently used ad sizes include:

The medium rectangle (300x250 px)

The 300x250 in banner video ad combines a video, static call-to-action banner and default thumbnail image. To launch a 300x250 ad, please provide your Account Executive with the following components: 

  • video:
    • .mp4, .mov, .flv file formats accepted
  • static banner: 
    • the 300x81 pixel call-to-action that appears below your in banner video
    • .jpg or .png file formats accepted
  • default thumbnail:
    • the 300x169 pixel image that will show when the in banner video ad finishes
    • .jpg or .png accepted

 

The large rectangle (300x600 px)

The 300x600 in banner video ad combines a video, static call-to-action banner and default thumbnail image. To launch a 300x600 ad, please provide your Account Executive with the following components:  

  • video:
    • .mp4, .mov, .flv file formats accepted
  • static banner: 
    • the 300x431 pixel call-to-action that appears below your in banner video
    • .jpg or .png file formats accepted
  • default thumbnail:
    • the 300x169 pixel image that will show when the in banner video ad finishes
    • .jpg or .png accepted

  

Facebook Advertising

Facebook has its own set of design guidelines and requirements. To learn more you can visit their help center.

To run video ads on Facebook, please supply your account manager with the following items:

  • high resolution video, preferably .mp4 or .MOV format
  • Your ad's 25 character headline
  • Your ad's 90 character text which displays below the headline
